Download the eFax Router

Release 2.10.1 is a performance-focused release that uses push notifications to improve the eFax Router load capabilities. If you are currently using Router version 1.x, please contact Sales Engineering at [email protected] before upgrading to enable the new router on your account. Failure to do so may result in lost faxes.

The eFax Router is a customizable Windows Service application that operates on a customer's infrastructure and allows the auto-download of faxes for one or multiple fax numbers over a secure internet connection. More specifically, based on user-defined settings, the application checks to see if any new faxes have arrived on the specified fax numbers, downloads these faxes and the associated metadata, and then performs one or more of the following tasks:

  1. Saves faxes into admin-designated folders.
  2. Prints faxes to shared local or network printers.
  3. Executes a templated command line, using the fax’s image and metadata as parameters.

After the download and subsequent handling is complete, users can configure the application to delete these faxes from eFax Corporate® or leave them on the server to complement their organization’s disaster-recovery strategies or fax-storage-period requirements. The service provides eFax Corporate customers the ability to integrate with the new eFax Enterprise API without writing their own code.

Prerequisites

The executable file needed to download and begin using the eFax Router comes in a 64-bit configuration. The user account performing the installation on the server must have security privileges permitting the installation of a Windows Service. In most cases, this means membership in the server’s LocalAdmins user group.

Since the eFax Router has the ability to save faxes to network-attached storage and to print them to network printers, the account that the Router Windows Service runs under must be a domain account, not just a local system account. You should provision this account prior to installation and have the credentials available at install time.

Download Notes for the eFax Router!

Download the installer to a folder on your network or PC and open the .exe file. An installation wizard guides you through the installation process. As part of the installation process, you must provide your Application ID and API Key. You must also provide the domain name of the network location you are installing the software on, as well as your user name and password for that domain.

System Requirements

The app should be installed on devices running Windows© Server 2012r2 or later. Users should also ensure that they have the .NET Framework (version 4.8.0 or higher) installed on any machine running the service.
